The space
Where some people see a barn others see open spaces for family gatherings and lots of potential. This was the case for The Barn! Lovingly transformed in 2005 by the Browns from a traditional barn to an architecturally unique home that features a spacious open floor plan, a modern galley-style kitchen with lots of room for helpers, and five comfortable bedrooms. The Barn is a flexible space with custom craftsmanship and plush amenities that can sleep up to 16 using 8 beds. Located on 70 acres in the Shawnee National Forest and just 15 minutes away from shopping and restaurants in Murphysboro, you’ll love the privacy and the gorgeous vistas. Guest access
Guests have full access to the house and grounds around the home with the exception of areas marked for employee use.
Other things to note
Cellphones: Verizon is the predominant carrier for the region. Other carriers can be spotty or have no service at all. A landline house phone is available for guests to use. Calls on the landline are free in the continental US. Cells phones may be enabled for Internet calling to assist with receiving calls in and near the home.
Internet: For a rural location, ours is one of the best around. However, our internet package is limited and not to be used for streaming, gaming, or Zoom meetings. Please note, overage charges may apply with heavy usage.
Refundable Deposit: An additional refundable deposit may be required for large groups, and/or groups with a disproportionate number of children to adults.
Events: All events must be pre-approved by the owners. An event fee may apply.
Driveway: During flash floods the creek will cover the driveway.
